Our Nanofibrous Patches are made from carefully selected biodegradable polymers. The polymers are mixed with the drug and then transformed into very small nano fibres using an innovative technology called electro-spinning. The nanofibres are produced by applying electrostatic field between the polymeric solution deposited on a wire. The electrostatic force “spins” the fibers which are then collected in the form of a non-woven mat on a substrate. The structure of the mat is very open, structurally similar to Cotton Candy. The machine produces rolls of this nano-fibrous mat that are then sent to our manufacturing partner who transforms them into patches.
